What
needs to be considered in stamped product design?
There are numerous variables to
consider when designing metal stamping jobs. So many in fact
that it would be too time consuming to try to teach you that
in this format.
A better question might be, "Does Die-Tech have the capability
and skill to help me meet my objectives?" Fortunately, we can
discover if there is a technical fit between our companies
by asking a few questions.
Just like the airline carry on
baggage restrictions, we have size restriction on the parts
that we can produce. Would one of your parts fit into a box
that is 4" wide, 5" long, and 1/2" deep? If it fits in the
box, no matter how much or how little space is left around
it's edges, we might be able to help.
Typically we work with people who
are seriously committed to making the investments required
to simplify production, improve quality, and increase yields.
In this concept, a well designed metal stamping pays for itself
many times in the manufacturing process by eliminating assembly
steps, line down conditions, and manufacturability that eliminates
late deliveries.
