The requirement for inexpensive packaging for surface mounted electronic circuit designs  in the hybrid industry during the 1970s resulted in the development of leads for attaching directly to the substrate.  The ensuing advances of leads formed in a long continuous strip (known as leadframe or lead frame) enabled manufacturers to custom tailor their circuits to the application.   

Next came the development of the edge clip, which is a mechanical means of holding the lead in place on the edge of the substrate until solder can be applied to create the solder fillet that permanently attach the lead to the pad on the circuit board or device.  Die-Tech was on the fore-front of bringing this type of product to the world and helping to revolutionize the electronics industry.  And we continue to help our customers delevop new and better ways of meeting their assembly challenges.
