| Challenge
The manufacturing line for an automotive sensor was stalled
by late deliveries of poor quality stamped pins essential to
construction of the sensor.
Solution
In this case the die built by brand "X" was poorly designed.
The design flaws in the pin became visible through inconsistent
dimensions and low production speed.
The only practical way to improve the pins was to redesign
and rebuild the die. Die-Tech was able to do some minor fixes
on the brand "X" die to meet the client's emergency production
needs. Simultaneously, an improved die was built which would
meet higher tolerances and the projected product usage.
What starts well, ends well. A cracker jack product design
is worthless without the skill to properly design, build, and
operate the tools and die which will consistently execute the
design.
