Die-Tech Stamping Hybrid Edge Clips for the Consumer Electronics Industry

This video shows the process of taking raw material from a reel through feed stations into a 32-ton press that contains a progressive die.  The die cuts and forms the raw material into the finished precision metal stamping which is a hybrid edge clip with solder in the clip area.

The finished product is produced on a continuous carrier strip and rolled onto reels so the OEM can use it in an automated assembly process.

This type of product revolutionized the consumer electronics industry when it was introduced to the market by Die-Tech, Inc., in the early 1970s.  This product can be found inside thousands of electronic devices, it allows electricity to move from one component to another inside the device.  For example, from a computer chip to the mother-board inside a computer.
